Hello and thanks for stopping by
A little about me —
Susan Felder has been a theatre artist most of her life – acting, directing and writing for the theatre nationally and abroad. Her writing style has been described as “eloquent grit.” Her critically acclaimed play Wasteland premiered at Chicago’s Timeline Theatre, named one of the top 10 theatres by The Wall Street Journal. It has seen numerous productions across the country. Temple Spirit was workshopped at Chicago’s House Theatre, with Pulitzer Prize winner Tracy Letts in the lead. The play, all in verse, received a production at Echo Theatre Dallas. For her play Hope After Hate, she travelled to Poland and Germany for research for a true story about a young boy in the Holocaust. The production was an immersive theatre experience with the audience surrounded by images and places from the actual events. A new play Buffalo Talks to the Moon, about women in the Montana goldrush, recently saw a workshop at The Carnegie in Kentucky. Susan was a guest speaker at the Shaw Festival in Canada which led to an inviation to publish an article in the international peer reviewed Shaw Review. Camp Make A Dream adopted her children’s story Mooky the Flying Camel as an inspiration for perseverance. After living and working in Chicago and Montana for 30 years, she began teaching at universities across the country. She has taught Shakespeare at Northwestern, Notre Dame, Loyola University, Oklahoma State, Montana State and the University of Cincinnati where she currently teaches acting and movement. She is a member of Actor’s Equity, Michigan Writers, The Shaw Society and the Dramatist’s Guild. Currently she is obsessed with possums and cannot wait to get back to her family home on Michigan’s Lake Erie.
