What’s it about?

A beatnick/jazz style story for those who won’t give up…

Mooky is one crazy camel.  His friends don’t jive with his dreams of flying, but Mooky marches to his own camel-drum.  He stares at the sky with his ever-looking eyes, aviator goggles in place.  One leg stuck on the ground, he stands, his two front legs out to the side, his kicky rudder-leg stretched behind.

Mook boards a plane for aviation school, trying to hide his camel ways behind the Hemispheres magazine. Out the window the clouds are a-screamin’ to come and soar.  But when the dean of the school looks him up and down and all around, our camel gets rejected. Turns out Mooky needs contact lenses. His hipper camel friends don’t approve.

Maybe Mook’s dream will slip away into the slithering sands, but maybe the dream itself holds enough joy to keep his eyes gazing at the sky.
